Reactive Rascals Workshop - £50

Saturday 13th September 2025 - 10am to 3pm

Did you know that canine reactivity is one of the most misunderstood dog behaviours among dog owners and even professionals?

Reactivity is often a result of fear, anxiety or excitement and is not the same as aggression although some reactive dogs do display aggressive behaviours. In reality, all dogs will be reactive at some point or another and no dog will ever, always, be reactive. Reactivity is actually a very small part of a dog’s personality but unfortunately it can quite often be overwhelming, scary and debilitating for both owner and dog.

This 5 hour workshop aimed at both dog owners and people who work with dogs will equip you with the skills to help your dog overcome reactivity with a 4-part programme specifically designed for dogs that bark, lunge, pull or just get too excited around other dogs, people or things.

During this workshop you will learn:

  • To understand emotion in dogs
  • The importance of rest, diet and exercise
  • How to read your dog's body language and that of others
  • How to identify potential triggers and pre-empt reactivity
  • How to plan, set goals and review your progress
  • How to be proactive not reactive
  • To become a mindful dog trainer
  • The Reactive Rascals toolkit with 14 training exercises to help your Reactive Rascal

This workshop is aimed at pet dog owners but is also suitable for canine professionals wanting to expand/improve their knowledge of canine reactivity.
