Here at K9 Klass, we offer foundation level gundog training classes, which are  ideal for owners wishing to try gundog training just for fun or as a foundation to moving on to training with a gundog club.  Our classes are held outside at Clanfield Memorial Hall on Saturday afternoons and cover key foundation gundog exercises and how they can be used in everyday life. All breeds and ages are welcome! 

Gundog Foundations Level 1 - 6 week course - £70

Would you like to learn how to develop your dog's natural abilities and put them to use in everyday life? Want to know more about gundog training or just fancy doing something different with your dog? Then this is the course for you! This course is ideal for owners wishing to try gundog training just for fun or as a foundation to moving on to training with a gundog club. All breeds welcome! 


6 x 1 hour weekly lessons, which include a tea break/ask the trainer session,  held outdoors, learning key foundation gundog training exercises and their use in everyday life, including:


  • Recall
  • Stop
  • Hunting on cue
  • Retrieve
  • Stay (Steady)
  • Whistle work
  • Hand signals (left, right and back)
  • Targeting (hand, platform and posts)


Certificate and rosette given upon course completion.  


Previous basic training (e.g. sit, stay, recall) would be advantageous but is not essential. 

Gundog Foundations Level 2 - 6 week course - £70

Saturday 21st March 2020 - 2.30pm

Following on from the Gundog Foundations Level 1 course, this 6 week course takes the foundation skills achieved in the level 1 course to the next level, as well as introducing new exercises. This course is suitable for dogs who have attended our level 1 course or an equivalent foundation gundog course with another training club.


6 x 1 hour weekly lessons, which include a tea break/ask the trainer session,  held outdoors, learning key foundation gundog training exercises including:


  • Heelwork (on and off lead)
  • Send away to hunt
  • Emergency stops (outrun and in run)
  • Mark, memory and blind retrieves
  • Whistle work
  • Emergency recalls


Certificate and rosette given upon course completion.
